Whimsical Quest – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the official Terms and Conditions for Whimsical Quest. These rules, regulations, and guidelines are designed to ensure a safe, magical, and fair environment for every seeker taking part in our live-action street game. By purchasing a ticket, registering a party, or embarking on a quest, you agree to fully comply with our public highway safety codes, age restrictions, and cast interaction policies. Please read them thoroughly before booking your time slot.

Welcome to Whimsical Quest. By purchasing a ticket, downloading our mobile platform, or participating in our live-action events, you (the "Participant" or "Seeker") agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking your adventure.

1. Age Restrictions & Supervision
Whimsical Quest is designed to be enjoyed by all generations, but safety on the public high street is paramount.

Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied and actively supervised by a responsible adult (aged 18 or over) at all times during the quest.
Unaccompanied minors aged 14 and under will not be permitted to start the quest, and their tickets will be forfeited without a refund.

2. The Wanderer’s Oath (Mandatory Waiver & Conduct)
To participate in the quest, every individual must sign our digital code of conduct and liability waiver, known as the Wanderer’s Oath, prior to starting.

Adults (Aged 16+): Must sign their own digital declaration via the mobile platform.
Minors (Under 16): A parent or legal guardian must sign the digital declaration on behalf of any child under the age of 16.
Failure or refusal to sign the Wanderer’s Oath will result in being barred from the event without a refund.

3. Public Highway Code & Pedestrian Safety
Whimsical Quest takes place in shared public spaces, historic courtyards, and local high streets.

Participants must obey all local pedestrian laws, use designated crossing points, and remain aware of their surroundings, traffic, and other members of the public.
The game is strictly a "slow gaming" experience; running, climbing on historic monuments, or blocking public footpaths is strictly prohibited.
Whimsical Quest accepts no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage caused by a participant’s failure to navigate the public highway safely.

4. Ticketing, Staggered Slots, & Late Arrivals

To prevent overcrowding and respect town council guidelines, tickets are tied to strict, staggered time slots.
Your party must arrive at the starting point precisely at your booked time.
If your party arrives late, we cannot guarantee entry. We will attempt to fit you into a later slot if capacity allows, but if we cannot, your ticket will be forfeited without a refund.

5. Interaction with Live Performers & Businesses

Our cast of wizards, witches, and scholars are here to create magic. Any aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior toward our performers or staff will result in immediate expulsion from the game without a refund, and may lead to a permanent ban.
Participants must respect the premises and staff of our local business partners acting as clue locations.

6. Media, Photography, & Marketing Consent

Our Photography & Filming: Whimsical Quest events take place in public and semi-public spaces where promotional photography, audio recording, and filming may occur. By purchasing a ticket and participating in the quest, you grant Whimsical Quest and its official partners the irrevocable, worldwide right to use your likeness, voice, and image (including those of any minors in your party) in promotional videos, social media content, websites, and marketing materials without compensation or further approval.
Your Photos: We encourage you to take photos and videos of your journey! By tagging our official accounts or using our event hashtags on social media, you grant Whimsical Quest a non-exclusive license to reshare that content to celebrate your achievement.
Our Content: All text, puzzle designs, custom illustrations, lore videos, and software icons on the mobile "Codex" are the sole intellectual property of Whimsical Quest. Copying, recording for redistribution, or reverse-engineering our puzzles is strictly forbidden.

7. Limitation of Liability

Whimsical Quest provides an interactive outdoor route but is not responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of public pavements, weather conditions, or unexpected closures of public spaces by local authorities.
Participants take part at their own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Whimsical Quest shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, injury, or damage sustained during the event.
